New York delegation members urge CMS to change final 2023 IPPS rule
Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand joined 28 other senators in sending CMS a bipartisan letter asking the agency to change the final 2023 Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment System rule, leveraging existing authority, to more accurately reflect the cost of providing hospital care to patients. More than half of the New York delegation signed a similar letter in the House of Representatives, which garnered 112 members’ support. HANYS thanks the New York delegation for their strong support of this HANYS and AHA-supported letter.
