Remembering Dr. Pardes

HANYS mourns the passing of Herbert Pardes, MD, a tremendous leader whose influential thinking and commitment to care have left an enduring imprint on healthcare in New York. Among his many roles, recognitions and contributions, Dr. Pardes served as chair of the HANYS board of trustees while president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. A HANYS Distinguished Service Award honoree (2012), he remained an active emeritus board member until his passing. Dr. Pardes will be deeply missed.

State regulatory activity

This week’s update includes the adoption of general hospital medical staff recertification regulations and regulations that allow RNs to execute non-patient specific orders to provide certain emergency medical services and administer pregnancy tests. Also included in this week’s update is a proposed regulation that would raise the annual visit limit for Article 31 providers. Stay up to date with HANYS’ regulatory chart.
