Use HANYS’ workforce one-sheet to support your advocacy
Every Role, Every Region shares findings from a fall 2022 workforce survey about the distressing nature of New York hospitals' and health systems' recruitment and retention challenges. We thank our members who participated and encourage all members to use this resource as context in conversations with state and federal policymakers.
HANYS’ statement on the 2023-2024 state budget
“Medicaid rate increases of any kind are rare and greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, this budget also includes harmful policies that, for some hospitals and health systems, significantly reduce the positive impact of the critically important and long overdue rate investments.” Read the full statement from HANYS President Bea Grause, RN, JD, on our website.
Medicare Advantage plans need more oversight
Our new blog post urges Washington to do more to regulate and oversee Medicare Advantage plans, whose restrictive policies and practices harm enrollees and providers.
State legislative activity update
This week the governor signed the following bill into law:
- Dispensing of self-administered hormonal contraceptives (Chapter 128 of the Laws of 2023)
Please see our summary chart for a complete list of bills of interest that have passed both houses during the 2023 legislative session.
