HANYS honors Distinguished Service Award recipients
New York State Assemblymember Richard Gottfried and longtime hospital executive Kenneth Roberts were recognized for their outstanding service in the healthcare field during HANYS’ 53rd Annual Membership Conference. Learn more about our recipients’ contributions to New York healthcare in HANYS’ press release.
State Senate lines added to HANYS' redistricting tool
The updated interactive tool now compares current State Senate district lines to those recently adopted by the court-appointed special master. Maps in the tool display existing Senate legislative districts and the hospitals within them and the restructured Senate districts, in addition to federal congressional district changes.
Senate committee advances FDASLA Act
The FDA Safety and Landmark Advancements Act includes the VALID Act — a provision to regulate laboratory-developed tests under the FDA. HANYS continues to track this package to ensure that oversight of LDTs considers New York state’s already robust requirements.
CDC updates guidance on monkeypox
In a health alert, CDC updated clinical guidance on the presentation, testing and treatment of monkeypox, including updated case definitions of suspected cases, which encourages broader suspicion of monkeypox.
