Innovative resources for improving antimicrobial stewardship in post-acute and long-term care settings
March 23
Webinar
Noon - 1 p.m.
This event is open to HANYS members and non-members.
Antimicrobial stewardship is required in post-acute and long-term care settings by CMS conditions of participation and other regulatory and accrediting organizations. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic reinforced the need to focus on infection control and antimicrobial stewardship challenges in these settings. This webinar will offer attendees an array of resources, including leveraging antimicrobial stewardship telemedicine. In addition, presenters will share practical guidance for infectious disease syndromes common in post-acute and long-term care settings.
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- demonstrate awareness of regulatory requirements for antibiotic stewardship programs in post-acute and long-term care settings;
- discuss innovations in antimicrobial stewardship in PALTC settings; and
- describe the resources available to assist facilities' antmicrobial stewardship efforts.
Speakers:
Ghinwa Dumyati, MD, Professor, Medicine, Infectious Diseases, University of Rochester Medical Center and Director, Communicable Diseases Surveillance and Prevention Program, Center for Community Health, URMC
Priya Nori, MD, Associate Professor (Infectious Diseases); Associate Professor, Orthopaedic Surgery; and Medical Director, Antibiotic Stewardship Program, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
