Assessing pediatric claims risks in your organization
March 8
Webinar
Noon - 1 p.m.
This event is open to HANYS members and non-members.
Pediatric malpractice claims are some of the most emotionally charged cases a healthcare organization can face. Communication issues, unique presentations and a lack of appropriate resources to care for children can lead to significant liability issues for your organization.
Join us to hear from a MLMIC risk management consultant and a Mercado May-Skinner law firm attorney as they review the common liability issues associated with pediatric patient care. They’ll present data and case studies to help participants identify the common causes of loss associated with malpractice claims in this area. The program will also provide strategies to improve the quality of patient care and reduce potential liability exposures in your practice.
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- recognize the most common causes of pediatric malpractice claims;
- review key lessons learned through the risk management analysis of clinical case studies; and
- develop and implement risk management strategies to reduce pediatric malpractice claims risks in your organization.
Target audience
Risk managers, quality improvement managers, medical directors, ambulatory care staff, legal, nursing staff patient safety officers are encouraged to attend.
