Healthcare governing boards are responsible for monitoring their hospital’s quality improvement programs to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. Too many measures, methodology variations and inconsistent results put an unfair burden on hospitals, create confusion and make trustee oversight challenging.

This session will help healthcare trustees understand:

• the most prominent hospital ratings;
• how the ratings are developed and the potential limitations of their methodologies and results;
• emerging trends in quality ratings, including measures focused on health equity; and
• resources trustees can use to evaluate report cards and talking points for responding to your community.
