Using rapid PDSA cycles to ease staffing crises
May 25, 2022
Webinar
Noon - 1 p.m.
This event is open to HANYS members and non-members.
Staffing shortages have affected all medical disciplines and shifts, with nursing roles especially impacted. As COVID-19 admissions surged at Albany Medical Center this winter, so too did the number of staff testing positive, compounding existing shortages. In response, AMC Chief Executive Officer Dennis McKenna, MD, charged hospital leaders with finding a way to engage non-clinical staff to help perform non-patient care tasks, allowing nurses and nurses’ aides to focus on providing bedside care to patients.
At the next webinar in HANYS' Healthcare Innovation and Lean Network of New York series, attendees will learn how AMC staff were able to implement innovative workforce solutions quickly and efficiently using rapid plan-do-study-act cycles while still providing high-quality care.
Speakers:
Nicolas Giorgio, Support Services/Call Center Supervisor, Albany Medical Center
Robert Pistilli, Assistant Vice President, Support Services, Albany Medical Center
Brando Sta.Maria, Education Specialist, Albany Medical Center
