Successfully implementing communication resolution programs
May 5
Webinar
Noon - 1 p.m.
This event is open to HANYS members and non-members.
Communication and Resolution Programs are comprehensive, principled and systematic initiatives to prevent and respond to patient harm. An effectively implemented CRP supports patients, families and providers after harm and facilitates learning. However, CRP efficacy is challenged by inconsistent implementation, limiting the potential benefits. This session will detail a national project to develop, refine and implement CRP metrics. Project leadership will describe its rationale, share metrics to augment the spread of CRPs, present the CRP Implementation and Improvement Guide and discuss the intended use of these tools.
At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- describe the root causes and consequences of inconsistent CRP implementation;
- list key metrics related to CRP structure, process and outcomes recently developed by a national panel of experts; and
- explore how health systems can improve CRP implementation using metrics and the Implementation and Improvement Guide.
This webinar is part of HANYS’ Commitment to Excellence Emerging Quality Trends Series. Each session will cover a different cutting-edge topic to expand healthcare providers' clinical expertise and share proven best practices to deliver high-quality care.
