Webinar

2 – 3:30 p.m.

Registration is open to HANYS Members and Non Members

Objectives
This workshop will have a provider focus and cover:

  • what constitutes “information blocking” (i.e., “interfere with,” “prevent” or “materially discourage”) by healthcare providers, including discussion of specific use case examples;
  • how to permissibly educate patients about privacy and security risks without engaging in impermissible “interference with” sharing of electronic health information;
  • how to implement the “preventing harm” exception;
  • how to implement the “privacy” exception;
  • impact of the “content and manner” exception;
  • penalties applicable to healthcare providers who engage in information blocking; and
  • deadlines for healthcare provider compliance.
